Dr. Jessica Koebbe2018

Jessica Koebbe is Instructor of Piano at MidAmerica Nazarene University. She is active as a soloist and collaborative pianist, performing frequently with the Midwest Chamber Ensemble and with internationally recognized instrumentalists. In 2015, she performed chamber concerts upon invitation in Paris and Germany.

Jessica has been selected as a prizewinner for the Sigma Alpha Iota National Graduate Performance Award, the Sigma Alpha Iota National Undergraduate Instrumental Performance Award, the Truman State University Piano Festival, and the University of Central Arkansas Piano Competition. She was also the recipient of accompanying and teaching assistantships throughout her graduate work.

A Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teachers National Association, Dr. Koebbe is an active teacher of prize-winning pre-collegiate and collegiate students and serves as a frequent adjudicator. She holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance.

Her doctoral research focused on practical strategies teachers can use to help young children prevent or overcome musical performance anxiety. Her goal is to encourage students and teachers to persevere, believing that the lessons learned through music—such as self-discipline, problem-solving, patience, and time management—translate into invaluable life skills.
