Giorgi Latsabidze is a concert pianist and composer. He obtains the Bachelor and Master’s degree from the Conservatoire in Georgia, post-graduate degrees from the Hannover Hochschule für Musikund Theater in Germany and the Mozarteum in Austria, and the Doctor of Arts degree from University of Southern California.
Dr. Latsabidze is especially recognized for his interpretations of the works of Frédéric Chopin and Franz Liszt, but he has also displayed his consummate skill and broad reach in works by Scarlatti, Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Debussy and many others.
In 2005 Giorgi gave solo concerts throughout Austria. His performance of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with the orchestras in Vienna was reviewed by the Austrian music critic Lilly Papsch and Harald Heller for his bravura playing and high musical sensitivity. His most recent works is his performance of Debussy Preludes Book 2 at Alfred Newman Recital Hall University of Southern California, 20 November 2009.
In 2007 he obtained the position of being President of the Music Teachers National Association at the Thornton School of Music in University of Southern California. Also, the Keyboard Studies Department in Spring 2007 appointed him for the Graduate Teaching Assistantship at the Thornton School. Some influencing teachers of Dr. Latsbize included Gerrit Zitterbart and Klaus Kaufmann.
